Burberry Children’s Autumn-Winter ’22 collection won the Internet as it featured a little Sikh kid model in its shoot for back-to-school designs from the latest ‘Burberry Children collection.’
The British heritage brand’s choice of casting four-year-old Sahib Singh, making him the first model to be wearing a patka — the turban worn by boys in the Sikh community, before they graduate to the pagri — in the iconic label’s official imagery.

The South Asian community applauded the brand for their initiative. In a few hours, the post reached the top of the likes list, greatly enhancing Burberry’s visibility and reach. Lewis Hamilton, Nicki Minaj, Michael B. Jordan, and many other celebs who have been posed on the label’s page have been overtaken by the four-year-old Sikh kid.
Praising the British clothing brand for the representation and inclusivity of the Sikh community, influencer and entrepreneur Harjinder Singh Kukreja shared a tweet: “Burberry features a Sikh kid model to endorse clothing for ‘back-to-school designs from the new #BurberryChildren collection’. This is a giant leap for representation because Sikh kids who do wear a patka (Sikh head covering for young boys) need to feel seen and acknowledged.”
