Sidhartha Mallya, who had Bollywood damsels amused at one point in time, recently received an unconventional wedding gift — a copy of the ancient Indian text, the Kama Sutra.
Mallya, the son of fugitive Indian businessman Vijay Mallya, took to Instagram to share his amusement over the gift, posting a picture of the book along with a string of laughing emojis.
The Kama Sutra, written by the Indian scholar Vātsyāyana, is an ancient text that explores the art of love, eroticism and emotional fulfillment. While it is considered an important work in Indian literature, the Kama Sutra is often associated with its explicit sexual content in modern times.
Mallya’s friend, Tushita Patel, who previously worked as an executive assistant to Vijay Mallya, was the one who gifted him the Kama Sutra. Patel reposted Mallya’s Instagram story, writing, “And in another place, a favourite boy gets married. I send him a user manual.”
Sidhartha Mallya recently tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Jasmine Santiago, in a lavish wedding ceremony held at his father’s estate in Hertfordshire, UK. The celebrations included both Christian and Hindu wedding rituals, attended by close family and friends.
Vijay Mallya, who is currently in the UK and facing extradition to India over an alleged loan fraud case, was also present at the wedding. Sidhartha Mallya was born in Los Angeles and was raised in London and the UAE.
The Kama Sutra gift has certainly added a touch of humor and intrigue to the newlyweds’ celebrations, reflecting the playful and unconventional nature of the Mallya family.
